Conditioning & Finish Restoration

1 · Assess the Hide
Alex's Team identifies the leather type, tannage, and finish — and tests colorfastness — before choosing the cleaning approach. Suede, nubuck, shearling, and smooth leathers each take a different path.
2 · Specialist Cleaning
Soiling, body oils, and water spotting are removed with leather-safe processes that protect the hide's natural oils. Linings are cleaned, odors neutralized, and trims and hardware shielded.
3 · Condition, Refinish & Hand-Finish
The piece is re-conditioned for suppleness, suede nap is restored, and color and sheen are evened and refreshed. Jackets are shaped, bags stuffed and structured, and everything hand-finished before white-glove return. Can suede really be cleaned?
Yes — with a suede-specific process. Suede cannot tolerate ordinary dry cleaning solvents or water, but specialist cleaning lifts soiling, restores the nap, and evens the color. Alex's Team assesses every suede piece individually before any work begins.
My leather jacket is stiff and has water stains — can it be restored?
Usually, yes. Stiffness and dullness typically mean the hide has lost its natural oils, and water spots are surface mineral deposits — both respond well to specialist cleaning followed by re-conditioning and finish restoration.
Do you clean leather handbags and shoes?
Yes — handbags, totes, gloves, and leather and suede footwear are all part of the service, including fine sneakers from houses like Zegna. Bags are cleaned inside and out, structured, and conditioned; hardware is protected throughout.
How long does suede and leather cleaning take?
